BETHLEHEM RECYCLING INFORMATION
Recyclable:

Glass food and beverage containers (rinsed clean)

# 1 and # 2 Plastic (one gallon or less) or "tin" cans food, beverage, soap and personal health care containers (rinsed clean). 

Clean aluminum foil and disposable trays.

Clean newsprint and inserts made of newspaper and clean cardboard (the type with the corrugated section between two smooth sheets).

Business and office paper - catalogs with stapled or glued bindings, junk mail, envelopes (including window types), school papers, textbooks without covers, computer and fax paper, non-metallic wrapping paper, NCR paper, carbonless forms, manila folders and envelopes, poster board, and any bond or copier paper.  Remove all non-paper attachments.

Scrap metal - any metal appliance, tool, lawn furniture or object that is primarily made of metal.  Paint cans must be empty and dry; the lids are acceptable but must be removed.  Auto parts are accepted (whole autos or large sections are not.) Some disposals will require a fee.

Used motor oil that is free of water, solvents, antifreeze, gasoline, paint or thinners.

Tires.  A disposal fee is required.

Not Recyclable:

Window panes, mirrors, light bulbs, crystal or ceramics.  (Please place these items in regular trash.)

Containers that had contained motor oil, anti-freeze, paint thinner, gasoline, dry gas or auto window wash.  (If metal deposit in scrap metal container.  If not metal please deposit with regular trash).

Glossy printed boxes such as beer cases, toy packaging, food boxes. (These should be deposited with regular trash).  "Asian" cardboard is also not recyclable; this is an off-colored soft cardboard.  

Blueprints, printed food boxes, large overnight mail envelopes, carbon paper, washroom paper, paper toweling and goldenrod and other yellow paper.  They should go into the regular trash.

Whole automobiles or large sections of automobiles.
